I am from Kalamazoo, MI and graduated from Western Michigan with a degree in Secondary English education and a minor in political science. I am currently teaching English 1000 at WMU. I chose to become an English teacher because I believe that literature makes people better. We read novels from different perspectives and that carries over to our everyday lives and helps us be more empathetic. I chose the high school level because it's so important to go out into the world as a good person in hopes that we can create a kinder world. 

 

 

I love to read (especially the Harry Potter series) and enjoy being outdoors. In my spare time I like to spend time with my nephew Noah and spend time with my family.
